Delhi: Gujarat Titans (GT) opener B Sai Sudarshan said that in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, he challenged himself to play with a better strike rate. The 23 -year -old batsman played a tremendous game this season and scored 509 runs at a strike rate of 153.51 in 11 innings. He has been one of the most trusted batsmen of the tournament and is currently the second highest run -scorer.

Talking about his performance, Sai Sudarshan said that last year he used to play a little slowly, because the middle order of the team was not stable and he had to mold himself according to the situation. However, in 2025, he focused on making himself more explosives and tried to make himself a better player in this format by changing the mindset.

Sai Sudarshan said in a conversation with The Indian Express, “I was a bit slow in some innings last year, the pitches on which we played was a little different. And the team’s position was such that we did not get a good start. We used to lose wickets continuously and I could not give a good start. It was difficult to score runs in the beginning.”

He further said, “I realized that I would have to push myself more, a little more explosive, so I started working at home and started working on this mindset, as you said, I did not change the batting technique, just brought clarity to thinking. I wanted to be aggressive from the beginning. If I could do it later, why not from the beginning, then why not from the beginning?”

Apart from this, Sudarshan told that he tried this changed thinking for the first time in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). After getting success in that tournament, he continued to play in the IPL in the same aggressive manner.
