Former India player Navjot Singh Sidhu has always backed the young cricketers. He is currently following Sai Sudharsan, who is representing the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2025. With 617 runs in 12 matches, Sai is leading the Orange Cap race in the 18th season of the tournament. The southpaw has hit one hundred and five fifties and with two league matches and payoffs remaining, Sai has an opportunity to increase his tally.
He is likely to play against England in the five-match Test series. With Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announcing retirement from red-ball cricket, the two vacant spots are likely to present chances to new faces.
Sidhu compared Sai to Sunil Gavaskar, calling him the most technically correct batter after the legendary cricketer.
“Sai Sudharsan is the most technically correct batter after Sunil Gavaskar. He has been consistent throughout this season of the IPL. I don’t think he has failed in any match. He is technically gifted and no one is better than him at the moment,” Navjot Singh Sidhu said on Star Sports.
“If you give him a chance against England, he can be your saviour. Let him take Rohit Sharma’s spot and open the innings. It is the toughest job in Test cricket. He is equipped to handle conditions in England,” he added.
