GT Vs LSG: Mitchell Marsh scored first IPL century, first foreign century in 2025 season

Delhi: Australian all -rounder Mitchell Marsh scored his brilliant performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, scoring a big century against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday, 22 May. Playing for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Marsh completed a century in just 56 balls and became the first foreign batsman to score a century this season.

Performance so far in season

Before the match against Gujarat, Marsh had scored 443 runs in 12 matches, including 5 half -centuries. But in Ahmedabad, he showed the real power of his bat. He scored a total of 117 runs, including 10 fours and 8 sixes. His explosive innings brought Lucknow beyond 200.

Quiet celebrations and team support

After a century, Marsh did not celebrate any major celebration on the field, but in a calm manner, he showed the end towards the dugout. He got an honor in the echo of applause by standing from Ahmedabad crowd and Lucknow dugout.

A special achievement

Marsh has become the 11th Australian batsman to score a century in IPL history. Earlier, veterans like David Warner, Steve Smith, Adam Gilchrist and Travis Head have done these acts. He has become the fourth batsman to score a century for Lucknow Super Giants, before him KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis and Quinton de Kock have done so.

Great partnerships

At the beginning of the innings, Marsh shared a 91 -run opening partnership with Aidan Markram (36 runs, 24 balls). After this, he added 121 runs in just 51 balls with Nicholas Puran. Both of them pushed the Gujarat bowlers completely on the backfoot.

Farewell to Lucknow playoffs

However, this excellent innings of Marsh did not work much for Lucknow. The team lost in his last and essential match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Monday, which led to the out of the playoff race.
