Sanjiv Goenka Reacts After Lucknow Super Giants Defeat Gujarat Titans, Shares Post On X

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) returned to winning ways and registered their sixth win of the IPL 2025 season in an away game. The Rishabh Pant-led side registered a 33-run win while defending a big target of 236 against Gujarat Titans.

LSG's owner, Sanjiv Goenka, was elated with this victory and shared a post on X.Sanjiv congratulated his team and captain, Rishabh. He also namedropped William O'Rourke, LSG's newest recruit, in his post. "Congratulations to @LucknowIPL and @RishabhPant17 on getting back to winning ways. Great performance by William O'Rourke, the newest member of the Super Giants family," Sanjiv wrote."An inspiring initiative by @gujarat_titans to continue the tradition of stepping out in lavender, a strong message of solidarity in the fight against cancer and a powerful reminder of how sport can unite us for greater causes," he added.

GT's decision to bowl didn't prove to be right as they failed to take early wickets. LSG's opener, Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram punished the home team's bowlers by adding 91 runs for the first wicket.Marsh slammed his maiden IPL century and smashed 117 off 64 balls. His knock included 8 sixes and 10 fours. Markram hit 36 off 24 balls.

Nicholas Pooran returned to form and remained unbeaten on 56 off 27 balls. He hit 5 sixes in his knock.Rishabh Pant played a 6-ball 16 cameo towards the end of the innings as LSG registered a big total of 235 in 20 overs.GT's opening pair of Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill provided a decent start and added 46 runs for the first wicket. Their top 5 batsmen got starts but none of them could play a big knock.Rourke shone with the ball and scalped 3 wickets for just 27 runs. Ayush Badoni, who didn't get a chance to bat, and Avesh Khan scalped 2 wickets each. GT continue to sit at the top spot despite the defeat.
