Lucknow: Rajasthan Royals (RR) star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal created history in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by taking 200 wickets. Chahal is such a bowler who has been successful in taking wickets even in difficult circumstances of the match. He has proved to be a match winner for India too but at present he is out of Team India. However, former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has described him as India's best spinner, who is not even a part of the Indian national team at present.

Let us tell you that Chahal is the bowler who has taken 200 wickets in IPL, while Irfan has called him the best spinner after Afghanistan's legendary spinner Rashid Khan. Pathan believes that if any bowler bowls like Rashid, it is Chahal. Actually, his comment came at a time when Chahal achieved a great feat by performing brilliantly in the match played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. During a conversation on Star Sports, Irfan has given a big statement about the star spinner.

He said, “If we see if any spinner in world cricket is walking shoulder to shoulder with Rashid Khan, then it is Yuzvendra Chahal. Even though he is not a part of the Indian team at present, his name will be discussed for the 15-member team of the T20 World Cup. He may get a place in the squad but it will be difficult to make a place in the playing eleven because Kuldeep Yadav is currently ahead of him for the Indian team.

If we talk about Chahal, he has been in great form this season and till now he is at the top in terms of taking most wickets in this tournament. So far, he has played a total of 8 matches in IPL 2024, in which this player has taken 13 wickets. With this, he remains in the race for Purple Cap. In such a situation, the biggest question is whether he will be selected for the T20 World Cup because Kuldeep and Ravindra Jadeja will be the two spinners for India. In such a situation, it will be difficult for Chahal to make his place.

Yuzvendra Chahal became the first bowler to take 200 wickets in IPL

Chahal is the first player in the history of IPL to have taken 200 wickets in his name. Apart from him, no other player has been able to accomplish this feat. Apart from him, the second highest wicket taker in IPL is Dwayne Bravo, who took 183 wickets in his name.
