After a Clinical performance in the batting and Bowling department, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a 110 win in the IPL 2025 game against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 25 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
After Heinrich Klaasen’s onslaught, Harsh Dubey, Eshan Malinga and Jaydev Undakat went on to bag three wickets each, dismantling KKR’s batting lineup on Sunday’s clash.
With this win, SRH completed their 2025 campaign at 6th position while KKR slipped to 8th position in the IPL 2025 points table.
Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad openers, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, went off flying start with scoring 79 runs in the powerplay.
Kolkata Bowlers weren’t able to trouble the duo in the powerplay. However, Sunil Narine, who bowled the first over after the powerplay, bagged the wicket of Abhishek Sharma for 32 runs.
With Heinrich Klaasen Joining Head at the crease, the latter went on to smash a 28-ball fifty, powering the side to cross the 100-run mark in the 8th over.
Meanwhile, Klassen also joined Travis Head to create a ramp-up at Arun Jaitley, hitting boundaries and sixes.
Travis Head went on to score 76 runs off 40 deliveries before being dismissed by Sunil Narine. With Ishan Kishan joining Heinrich Klaasen at crease, the former walked back to dug out after scoring 29 runs off 20 deliveries.
In the pursuit of chasing 279 runs, Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine opened the innings while, Pat Cummins opened the bowling attack.
Narine who made an aggressive start, lost his wicket for 31 runs while Rahane lost his wicket for 15 runs to Jaydev Unadkat.
Meantime, KKR scored 59 runs in the powerplay and de Kock lost his wicket to Eshan Malinga for 9 runs. With the dismissal of Rinku Singh, KKR lost four wickets for 70 runs.
However Kolkata went on to lost wickets at middle order cheaply while Manish Pandey made a 37 runs off 23 deliveries.
With the dismissal of Ramandeep Singh and Vaibhav Arora, Kolkata is down to their last wicket with Harshit Rana and Anrich Nortje at crease.
Despite Harshit Rana’s 34 runs, Kolkata went on to score 168 runs before losing all 10 wickets with 14 balls to spare.
