Delhi: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain and star wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant said that he wants to take a break from cricket for a few days after the end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. In the exciting match played in Lucknow on Tuesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated LSG by 6 wickets and made it to the top-2 of the playoffs.
Pant will now be seen playing for the Indian team in the upcoming Test series against England and he wants to be mentally refreshed for this. He played a stormy innings of 118 runs off 61 balls in his last league match of IPL 2025 and brought LSG to a strong score of 227/3 runs.
However, RCB won 85 runs from 33 balls of his caretaker captain Jitesh Sharma and Mayank Agarwal’s 23 balls won a memorable victory on the power of 41 runs and secured his place in qualifier 1.
After the match, Pant said in the presentation ceremony, “I want to stay away from cricket for a few days, I want to fresh the mind. Then England series is coming, so I want to prepare in good mental condition for him.”
The LSG captain further said, “Finally you have to play 40 overs good cricket. 20 overs can not win in T20 match and this has been our story. Since the beginning of the tournament, there were many injuries problems, which damaged us the whole season.”
Significantly, after a bad season, Pant made a strong comeback and hit 11 fours and 8 sixes in his 118 -run innings. With this, he ended his IPL 2025 campaign in a spectacular style.
