Shardul Thakur: Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retired from Test cricket before the Test series against England. He took this decision before he was elected the Indian team against England. Indian all -rounder Shardul Thakur has raised his finger on their performance over Rohit and Virat’s retirement.

He believes that these veterans must have felt that now he cannot play this format as before, so he took goodbye from the test.

Senior player’s presence increases confidence: Shardul Thakur

Speaking on the retirement of both the veterans, Shardul Thakur said, “He has been the most senior player of the game, but such decisions are private. When a player feels that he cannot contribute the same as before, he takes such a step.”

Shardul says that when senior players in the team are present, both confidence and security increase. He also said that a good mix of young players and experienced players always benefits the team.

Shardul Thakur further said about Ravindra Jadeja, “Now Jadeja is the most experienced player. This tour is a new challenge for all and now many players will have to fulfill the responsibility of leadership.”

Advising the young players, he further said, “We have no shortage of talent. This is the right opportunity for young players to make their names.”
