Bumrah, Jadeja and Root retain top spot in ICC Test rankings

New Delhi: India's pace spearhead, premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and England's premier batter Joe Root have maintained their top spots in the latest ICC Test rankings that was released on Wednesday.

With 888 rating points Root kept his hold at the No. position after making 34 runs in England's one-off Test against Zimbabwe in Nottingham. But his team-mate Harry Brook trimmed the gap to 15 points with a 58-run knock in the same match.

New Zealand's Kane Williamson (867), India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (847) and Australia ace Steve Smith (823) all remain very cose to each oter as a new World Test Championship cycle begins in June.

India are set to visit England for a five-match Test series that will begin on June 20. Before that crunch series, England's batting trio of Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope and Zak Crawley all took big leaps in the rankings after hitting centuries against Zimbabwe.

Duckett moved two places to be 13th, Pope took a leap of six spots to 22nd and Crawley jumoed eight slot to move to joint 33rd.

Bumrah has 908 points in the bowling charts, ahead of South Africa's Kagiso Rabada (837), Aussie trio of Pat Cummins (824), Josh Hazlewood (818) and Nathan Lyon (812).

England seamer Gus Atkinson took three wicket in England's innings and a 45-run over Zimbabwe to move a place up to 13th overall while team-mate spinner Shoaib Bashir jumoed 14 spots to be placed at joint 43rd following his nine wickets in the same game.

Atkinson also improved one slot to be seventh in the list for Test all-rounders that continues to be led by Ravindra Jadeja (400 points).

Bangladesh's Mehidy Hasan Miraz is second with 327 points, followed by South Africa's Marco Jansen (294).

Hardik Pandya also remain as the top T20I all-rounder with 252 points, ahead Australia's Marcus Stoinis (210) and England's Liam Livingstone (209).
