Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 qualifier 1 match was competed between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The match was played on 29 May at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur. Punjab started the match while bowling first, but the beginning was very bad for the team.
Punjab openers Prabhasimran Singh and Priyansh Arya were dismissed by 18 and 7 runs respectively. After this, the condition of the team worsened, when Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for just 2 runs and Josh English 4 runs.
When the entire batting order was shattered like cards, Marcus Stoinis tried to handle the innings, but he too was dismissed for 26 runs. However, during this small innings, Stoinis made a big IPL record.
Actually, star all -rounder Marcus Stoinis has completed his 2000 runs in the IPL. He has scored 2009 runs in 107 IPL matches so far. Stoinis scored 26 runs in this match against Royal Challengers Bangalore for Punjab Kings.
Shashank Singh was dismissed for 3, while Mushir Khan, who was debuting, returned to the pavilion without opening an account. Apart from this, Ajmatullah Umarzai added 18 runs and the entire team of Punjab Kings was reduced to 101 runs.
At the same time, Josh Hazelwood and Suyash Sharma were the most successful bowlers for Royal Challengers Bangalore, both took 3-3 wickets. Yash Dayal took 2 wickets, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Romariyo Shepherd got 1-1 wickets.
It is also a special thing that the score of 101 runs is the lowest score of IPL playoff history. Punjab has equaled an old record of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in this case.
