Mumbai Indians are on a mission to lift the IPL trophy for the sixth time since the inception of the tournament in 2008. Like every year, this season has been no different with Mumbai making another comeback after losing consecutive games at the start. There were question marks on the performances of the big players but a close contest with Delhi Capitals brought everyone together and the MI cricketers haven’t looked back since then.

The arrival of Jasprit Bumrah and the form of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Trent Boult, Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks changed the outcome of the matches.

Mumbai defeated Gujarat Titans in the Eliminator and they will now compete with the Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. They are two wins away from another successful campaign in the tournament. Mumbai will have to go past the challenge of Royal Challengers Bengaluru if they make it to the final.

Piyush Chawla, who played for the Indians in the past, was sure of Mumbai’s return to form when others were giving them no chance.

“I knew Mumbai Indians can qualify even after losing five matches. It was a matter of two wins before they start dominating. Teams were clueless on how to beat Mumbai Indians when they won seven matches in the league stage,” Piyush Chawla said on Star Sports.

“There are several match-winners in the side and the team knows how to comeback. Mumbai didn’t give a chance to Gujarat Titans in the Eliminator and Rohit Sharma went all out against them,” he added.
