PBKS vs MI: Mumbai Indians' premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah, known for his pin-point accuracy and unmatched economy in the T20 format, endured a rare forgettable outing in the IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 against Punjab Kings on Monday at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

In a surprising turn of events, Australian wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis took the ace bowler to the cleaners in the 5th over of the run-chase, smashing 20 runs from just 6 deliveries - marking Bumrah's most expensive over of the season.

Punjab Kings were chasing a challenging target of 204 after Mumbai posted 203/6 in their 20 overs.

With the pressure on the chasing side, MI captain Hardik Pandya turned to his trump card - Bumrah - expecting him to strangle the scoring and possibly pick up a crucial wicket inside the powerplay. Instead, Inglis stunned everyone with a fearless assault.

Inglis launched the over with a boundary and followed it up with two massive sixes and another four, capitalizing on anything short or in the slot. By the time the over ended, Bumrah had conceded 20 runs - his worst single-over figures in IPL 2025. The previous most he had conceded in an over this season was 18 runs, against Karun Nair in Delhi during the powerplay.

To put the moment in perspective, Bumrah entered the match with an astonishing economy rate of 6.36 - essentially giving away just 25 runs per match across his 4 overs, an unheard-of stat in the batter-dominated world of T20 cricket. That level of consistency had made him nearly untouchable this season, until this jarring moment at the hands of Inglis.

The unexpected assault by Inglis was a turning point in the chase and showcased how even the best can have an off day. While one over doesn't define Bumrah's brilliance, it certainly stands out as a rare low point for the MI star speedster.
