On June 3, PBKS shall take on RCB in the final of IPL 2025. Neither side has ever won the IPL and for one team, the title drought shall come to an end.
For the other, it will be another case of so near yet so far. Shreyas Iyer and Rajat Patidar will be aiming for glory. RCB are playing their fourth final and first since 2016. They also played in 2009 and 2011. are only in their second final and first since 2014.
The main focus will be on Virat Kohli. The man holds so many IPL records but the title is missing from his cabinet. He has been a part of RCB since the tournament began in 2008. He currently holds the records of most runs, runs in a season, runs as skipper, runs for one team, matches for one team, centuries, half-centuries and 50-plus scores. Add an IPL title to all this and it would be the icing on the cake.

But there are 21 other players involved in the final and both teams are desperate to get the monkey off their backs. DC, RCB and PBKS are the only teams that have been there from the start but never won the IPL. One of them shall be able to join the list of IPL winners by the time the match is over.
If the final is a war between sides then the individual battles go a long way in determining the outcome. These smaller results can decide which way the game will swing. The IPL 2025 final has its share of potential face-offs which could make the summit clash more 'spicy'. Let's take a look:
1. Virat Kohli vs Arshdeep Singh

Kohli is the prized wicket for RCB and Arshdeep will surely have the 'King' on his radar. The former on the other hand will look to attack the latter early in order to gain an early advantage. Expect nothing held back as these two who have shared the dressing room for India go head to head in the quest for glory.
2. Phil Salt vs Kyle Jamieson

Salt loves to go on the attack and Jamieson will count on that in order to snare him early, or at the very least keep him quiet. Salt is known to wreak havoc in the first six overs and Jamieson may be the counterpunch PBKS need to keep the RCB opener in check.
3. Jitesh Sharma vs Yuzvendra Chahal

Jitesh is known to play those blazing finishing knocks that can mean the final difference between victory and defeat. Chahal on the other hand is known to pick up wickets in the death overs. It will be an interesting battle on the big stage between these two.
4. Shreyas Iyer vs Josh Hazlewood

Shreyas has the reputation of playing the big innings and going hard at the bowling. Hazlewood is the master of line and length which can be Shreyas' undoing. Could their winner decide the IPL champion? We shall have to wait and see!
5. Priyansh Arya vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Priyansh is not shy to give the ball a good bash but Bhuvneshwar knows how to keep such attacking players tied down. It will take something special from both these guys if they take each other on. Either there will be a flurry of runs or an important wicket. There is no in-between.
