Pakistan‘s Mohammad Rizwan joined captain Babar Azam as the second Pakistani batter to reach 3000 runs in T20I cricket, achieving the milestone in the second match against New Zealand. Spearhead bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi praised Rizwan’s achievement on social media, even comparing the prolific run-scorer to the legendary Don Bradman.

Congratulating Rizwan on reaching the milestone of 3000 T20I runs, the pacer compared him to the legendary Bradman.

“Cheers to Muhammad Rizwan – the Bradman of T20 cricket and Pakistan’s SuperMan for hitting 3,000 T20I runs! 🏏🌟 Your impact has transformed the game and silenced the skeptics. Keep soaring, champion! You’re an inspiration to many,” he wrote on X.

Ironically, Rizwan has the lowest strike-rate (127.42) among all batters who have achieved this feat, marginally below his compatriot Babar Azam who has the second-lowest strike rate (129).

On social media, fans heavily criticized Shaheen Afridi for his tweet and ridiculed Rizwan’s comparison to the legendary Bradman. Both Rizwan and Babar have faltered in high-pressure matches for Pakistan.

In the previous T20 World Cup in Australia, Pakistan’s star batter struggled in the final at Melbourne, posting a low total. However, Pakistan’s fast bowlers bowled brilliantly to keep the team in the match. But Ben Stokes played a patient innings to lead England to the championship.

Pakistan are playing in a 5-match T20I series against New Zealand at home.
