Virat Kohli couldn’t stop himself from crying when Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs in the final of the Indian Premier League at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Chasing 191 runs, Punjab managed 184/7, with Krunal Pandya taking two wickets and conceding just 17 runs from four overs. Kohli scored 43 runs in the summit clash. He spoke to Matthew Hayden after the match.
“I have given this team my youth and prime. I have given everything. I thought this moment would never come, but finally, we won the IPL. It has to be right up there with the best wins of my career. The management stood with me, and I have stayed with them for 18 years. My heart and soul are Bengaluru,” Virat Kohli said.
“I want to sleep like a baby now. When I will hang up my boots, I want to say that I have given everything. I can’t play as an impact player. I want to thank God for giving this trophy in my lap. Big shout out to the players, management, families and Bengaluru. Without them, it wouldn’t have been possible,” he added.
