Just hours after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) scripted history with their first-ever IPL title win, fans in Bengaluru were left disappointed — not because of the result, but because the much-hyped open bus victory parade was called off.
The victory parade, planned to celebrate RCB’s six-run triumph over Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 final in Ahmedabad, was cancelled due to severe traffic concerns in Bengaluru. A revised advisory from the city police cited heavy congestion around Vidhana Soudha and Chinnaswamy Stadium, leading to the decision.
Instead, RCB will now hold a felicitation ceremony at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium from 5 PM to 6 PM, followed by a fan celebration from 6 PM onwards. Entry will be allowed only to those with valid passes.
Authorities have urged citizens to avoid roads in the stadium vicinity between 3 PM and 8 PM, and advised fans to opt for Metro or other public transport due to limited parking.
The celebration will be streamed live on JioCinema, Hotstar, and the Star Sports Network, allowing fans to join the festivities from home.
The cancellation comes as a dampener after an emotional night in Ahmedabad where RCB finally lifted the trophy — a moment that brought Virat Kohli to tears and sent fans across Karnataka into celebration mode.
