Former Australia cricketer Matthew Hayden has revealed how India can win the upcoming Test series in England. India and England are set to lock horns in a five-match Test series beginning from June 20, which will also mark the start of the World Test Championship (WTC) cycle 2025-27.

Ahead of the all-important series, India have been depleted after the retirements of their senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Hence, not many are backing the Asian Giants to emerge victorious in the upcoming series. However, Matthew Hayden feels that India can prove the pundits wrong if they win the Tests in the challenging conditions of Leeds and Manchester.

He also mentioned how England's bowling attack, which is marred by injuries, can aid India's cause.

"I don't think England bowlers are that good, they have got a number of injuries and a number of retirees as well, that will be the challenge. The northern Test matches when it's zipping around that will be key, win that one and it could well be a series that goes India's way," Hayden said on 'JioHotstar'.

The injury issues have piled up for England ahead of the all-important series as speedster due to injury. Jofra Archer will also miss the opening game while Gus Atkinson is continuing to recover from a hamstring strain.

Amid all the injuries, England have even invited young towering fast bowler Eddie Jack to practice with the team. The 19-year-old seamer from Hampshire got the selectors' attention after dismissing KL Rahul in the second unofficial Test between India A and England Lions.

It remains to be seen how England's fast-bowling attack fares against a young Indian batting lineup led by captain Shubman Gill, who will have the massive task of captaining the team on an overseas tour.
