Jos Buttler, a senior England batter, regards Jasprit Bumrah as the biggest superstar in Indian cricket. In a conversation with Stuart Broad on a podcast, Buttler expressed that Bumrah is the most formidable threat to the opposition on any tour, earning respect for his skill and presence.

India will face England in a 5-match Test series from June to August. After recovering from a back injury, Bumrah is set to make his return to the red-ball format and is anticipated to be a key figure in the young Indian team under the leadership of Shubman Gill.

“I don’t think there’s anyone in that touring squad bigger than Jasprit Bumrah,” Jos Buttler said.

“But when you face him, he creates uncomfortable angles, his run-up is different, and his action is distinctive. I’ve seen side-on bowlers, but Bumrah delivers the ball from about a foot, maybe even a bit more, closer to the batter than most,” he explained.

Buttler spoke highly of Bumrah, noting that the bowler’s unique action can make a batter feel like a sitting target.

“As a right-hander, it always seemed like the ball is coming in. You end up in a terrible position, squared up and vulnerable,” he added.

“He’s a superstar bowler, and that’s the level you expect in international cricket. You’ll face top-class players, and Bumrah is certainly someone England will need to handle well to succeed,” he concluded.
