Delhi: Team India’s star batsman and T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav is currently focusing on his fitness with a little break from cricket. He was having trouble with sports hernia for some time, due to which he has gone to London for treatment. This hernia is in their right side.
Possibility of surgery
Suryakumar’s injury will be investigated there and surgery can also be done if needed. A close source said that if the operation had to be done, they will recover from there and return. This decision has been taken because the Indian team has no T20 International match till August-September.
Brake short from cricket
Suryakumar Yadav played cricket for three consecutive months. He scored 700 runs in IPL 2025, performing brilliantly for Mumbai Indians. After this he also played in the Mumbai T20 League. After such a busy schedule, this break is now giving them the right opportunity to overcome the injury.
Right time for recovery
A BCCI source said that Surya now wants to use this break for treatment and recovery. If there is surgery, then he will rehabilitate at the Center of Excellence of the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.
Surya is not part of Test team
The Indian Test team is currently in England and is going to play a five -Test series in Headingley from 20 June. But Suryakumar is not a part of the Test team, so he has got time to improve fitness during this time.
Return expected
India’s next T20I tour is against Bangladesh in August. If Surya does not need surgery, he can return on time. But if the operation takes place, recovery may take some more time. Nevertheless, it is expected that he will soon be fully fit and return to the field.
