Ollie Pope scored a hundred in England’s first innings of the series opener against India in Leeds.

Replying to the visitors’ 471 runs, the hosts were 209/3 at stumps on Day 2 of the contest. Ben Duckett amassed a fifty-plus score for the Ben Stokes-led unit. Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets for India.

Earlier, Ben Stokes and Josh Tongue claimed four wickets each to restrict India. Yashasvi Jaiswal (101), Shubman Gill (147) and Rishabh Pant (134) hit magnificent hundreds for the sub-continent nation.

However, the collapse of the lower middle order didn’t allow India to cross 500-run mark.
