Ind vs eng 1st test: The first Test is being played between India and England in Leeds. At the conclusion of the fourth day game, the match has come to an exciting turn. India has given England a big target of 371 runs in the fourth innings.
In the second innings, Indian batsmen batted brilliantly and took the score to 365 runs. Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul scored a century to bring the team to a strong position. But now the big question is, can this goal be considered safe against England? Let’s know.
The target of 371 runs given by the Indian team to England can be considered challenging historically. The biggest successful run chase in Headingley was by Australia in 1948, when he won the match by scoring 404 runs.
However, since the year 2000, a target of more than 350 has been achieved only once. That too in 2019, when England registered a historic victory, chasing 359 runs against Australia. In that match, Ben Stokes won on his own. But this time the target is 371, which will not be easy for England. Therefore, India’s score can be considered to be safe to an extent.
India scored a big score in the second innings thanks to the brilliant centuries of Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul. Pant made history by scoring a century in both innings, while Rahul became the first Indian opener to score three Test centuries in England.
However, the Indian innings collapsed after Pant and Rahul were dismissed. The lower order was once again completely flopped and the team lost their last 6 wickets within just 31 runs. The same story was also seen in the first innings, when India lost their last 7 wickets in 41 runs.
