England Test captain Ben Stokes is the best all-rounder in international cricket. He is a match-winner with the bat and ball. In the first Test against India, Stokes has been magnificent as a bowler. The southpaw has played unbelievable knocks across formats for years. Although he doesn’t play ODIs and T20Is anymore, the team management is willing to bring him back into white-ball cricket.

After recovering from knee injuries, Stokes is looking fit and sharp. India don’t have the luxury of a player like Stokes and Cheteshwar Pujara feels it is the only missing link in the Test team.

“India need a player like Ben Stokes, who can bat, bowl, and field,” he said.

Harsha Bhogle reminded him of Ravindra Jadeja. “India have one in the form of Ravindra Jadeja in home conditions. But he is not the same in overseas matches,” he said.

Sunil Gavaskar mentioned that Nitish Kumar Reddy can become India’s main all-rounder. “India can look at Nitish Kumar Reddy. He is a good batter and scored a hundred in Australia. His bowling will only get better,” he said.

Shubman Gill’s team is currently in England for five red-ball matches. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and R Ashwin have retired from the five-day format.
