ICC new rules follow in birmingham test: Team India is trailing 0–1 after losing the first Test match of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. Now the second Test match of this five -match Test series is to be played between July 2 to July 6. The second match between India and England is to be played at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham. Due to this, now both teams need to be cautious before the Test match. Because if the new rules implemented by the International Cricket Council (ICC) are ignored, the team may have to face a direct fine on the field.
In fact, the ICC has recently made some changes in the rules of Test cricket. Along with this, some new rules have also been introduced. One of these is Stop Clock Rules. Also, changes have been made in the rule of short run.
The ICC has recently implemented the Stop Clock Rules in Test matches to make Test cricket faster with more exciting. This rule was already being used in ODI and T20 cricket, but now it has also been made mandatory in Tests.
Under this rule, the fielding team will get a maximum of 60 seconds to start each over. If the team violates the deadline this time, it will be warned twice the first, but every time a penalty of 5 runs will be imposed every time. This penalty will be deducted from the score of the fielding team, which will directly benefit the batting team.
The ICC has also changed the rules of ‘short run’. Now if a batsman deliberately tries to take a short run, then not only a penalty of 5 runs will be held but the umpire will also be given the right to decide who will be on the strike on the next ball.
Recently, the rules have also been amended for boundary catch, which will also be applicable in this test. In such a situation, Team India will have to follow every rule on the field closely, so that no technical mistake will be obstructed in the path of victory.
