In the second session, the Indian team batted 31 overs and scored 145 runs losing one wicket. After this, Team India batted 10 overs in the third session. During this time the Indian team lost 3 wickets and could only manage 20 runs. Nevertheless, Team India was all out for 587 runs in the first innings of the second Test.

Two big partnerships in the first innings

On the first day of the second Test match, Team India had a first partnership of 80 runs off 90 balls. The second partnership was 66 runs off 131 balls. But two partnerships were the largest in this innings. Which proved to be Sanjeevani for the Indian team. First, Ravindra Jadeja and Shubman Gill shared a 203 -run partnership off 279 balls. This partnership was for the sixth wicket. After this, Washington Sundar and Shubman Gill shared 144 runs off 189 balls for the seventh wicket.
