The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have mutually decided to postpone the upcoming white-ball series, which was originally scheduled for August 2025.

The series — comprising three ODIs and three T20Is — will now be held in September 2026, the BCCI confirmed in an official statement.

“This decision has been reached following discussions between the two Boards, taking into account the international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience of both teams,” BCCI statement read.

“The BCB looks forward to welcoming India in September 2026 for this eagerly anticipated series. Revised dates and fixtures for the tour will be announced in due course.”

There’s still hope for fans eager to see the iconic Rohit Sharma-Virat Kohli pair back in action — but the wait just got a little longer.

Following their retirement from T20 Internationals and Test cricket, both veterans have chosen to focus solely on the ODI format, with their sights set on the 2027 World Cup.

The originally scheduled white-ball series between India and Bangladesh in August 2025 — which included three ODIs and three T20Is — was expected to mark their return to the field in Indian colors.

However, with the series now postponed to September 2026, fans will have to be patient to witness the Ro-Ko magic again.

While Team India is currently engaged in a five-match Test series against England, which runs until August 4, the next assignment was set to be a limited-overs tour of Bangladesh.

According to the original schedule, the India-Bangladesh series was slated to begin on August 17, starting with three ODIs, followed by a three-match T20I series. However, with the tour now postponed to September 2026, those fixtures will be rescheduled accordingly.
