Team India Test Record at Lord’s: The Indian cricket team has landed in Lord’s many times so far, but every time the view of the ground has not been the same. Here when Kapil Dev raised the World Cup trophy in 1983, the history of Lord’s was associated with Indian cricket. Then in the final of the NatWest Trophy in 2002, Ganguly’s jersey wave or KL Rahul’s century in Lord’s, India has repeatedly linked this ground to its story.
But when it comes to Test cricket, India’s record in Lord’s has not been so golden. Since 1932, India has played 19 Tests on this ground, but the record of the Indian team on this ground is not good. Let us tell you how the Indian team’s record is in this ground Test cricket.
India played their first Test match at Lord’s in 1932 under the leadership of captain CK Naidu. But the first win on this historic ground had to wait 54 years. In 1986, Kapil Dev’s captaincy, Chetan Sharma’s bowling and Dilip Vengsarkar’s century innings tasted India for the first time in Lord’s.
India has played 19 Tests so far in Lord’s, out of which only 3 win, 12 defeat and 4 draws. This record shows India’s challenges against England well. However, in the last five Tests, India have won two matches, which is clear that the situation is changing.
The Indian team is coming to the ground for the first time in the grounds of Edgbaston to play the match on this ground. India has a good opportunity to gain an edge in this series by winning the match at Lord’s ground.
