Ajinkya rahane on bcci selectors: The third Test match of Anderson Tendulkar Trophy 2025 is being played at Lord’s Cricket Ground from 10 July. In the midst of this Test match, former vice-captain and veteran batsman Ajinkya Rahane has come into the limelight with a shocking revelations. He has introduced his passion for Test cricket with a statement. He has broken his silence even after not getting a place in the Indian Test team.
Let me tell you that Ajinkya Rahane, who last played for India on a 2023 West Indies tour, was dropped from the team soon after. Since then, he has worked hard in domestic cricket and has scored continuously.
In an impeccable conversation with Sky Sports on the third day at Lord’s, Ajinkya Rahane admitted that his love for the red ball format is still equally deep. Now he revealed that all his attempts to contact the national selectors went in vain.
Ajinkya Rahane told Sky Sports, “I still want to play Test cricket, I love Test cricket. For me, it is about focusing on the things that I can control, that is, my game, ie my game. Truth, I tried to talk to the selectors, but I have not received any response, but I have no response. I like to continue to play, I just like to play. It is a passion. “
However, Ajinkya Rahane did not score any runs between 2020 and 2023. During this, he played 19 Tests and scored just 819 runs at an average of just 24.08. This poor form also affected his career. Playing for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy 2024-25, he scored 467 runs in 14 innings at an average of 35.92 and took the team to the semi-finals, but this demonstration could not bring him a return to Team India.
