Kl rahul opens up on rishabh pant: On the third day of Lord’s Test against England, Indian team opener KL Rahul has made a big disclosure about the aggressive innings of wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant. Rahul said that Pant was in pain while batting and was disappointed at not being able to play stroke openly due to a finger injury.
In fact, while wicketkeeping on the first day of the Test match, Rishabh Pant’s left index finger suffered an injury. He then went out of the field and Dhruv Jurlel took the responsibility of wicketkeeping. However, Pant landed for batting and remained unbeaten on the second day by scoring 19 runs till the stumps.
On the third day of the Lord’s Test, Rishabh Pant, along with KL Rahul, shared a significant partnership of 141 runs for the fourth wicket. While Rahul scored 100 runs, Pant added 74 runs in 112 balls with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes. However, he was run out on the direct throw of Ben Stokes.
KL Rahul told the press conference after the match that Rishabh Pant was in pain all the time, but he did not give up. Rahul said, “He (Pant) was hurting a lot in holding the bat. When the ball hit the bat, there is a lot of friction, and he also hurt the gloves a few times, which was not ideal.”
KL Rahul further stated that Rishabh Pant was unhappy with his limited capacity. He said, “He kept telling me that he was missing a lot of balls, which he should have killed for the boundary. He was very disappointed with this.”
KL Rahul advised Rishabh Pant to remain calm and play according to his circumstances. Rahul said, “I just had to say that he should weigh his options and see which shot he could hit the boundary, rather than that he was upset. He seemed quite calm anyway. Yes, he was in pain, but he was very happy and more willing to work and fight for the team.”
