Delhi: Australian veteran fast bowler Mitchell Starc made a big achievement in the third Test match against West Indies from Sunday at Sabina Park. As soon as he landed on the field in this match, he became the 16th player of Australia to play 100 Test matches. This achievement takes him to a special place in Australia’s cricket history.

Jai Shah, president of the International Cricket Council (ICC), congratulated Mitchell Starc in a special way on this historic occasion. He wrote on the social media platform ‘X’ (East Twitter), “Hearty congratulations to Mitchell Starc on the achievement of playing 100 Test matches. It is a matter of pride for any cricketer, but it is even more special for a fast bowler. He has still been on top of his game since the Test debut in 2011.”

Stark has now become the second Australian fast bowler to achieve this feat after Glenn McGrag. He has also joined that prestigious list.

Mitchell Starc started a Test career against New Zealand in 2011. In his 14 -year long career, he has taken 396 wickets in 100 Tests. Stark is now very close to 400 Test wickets and he needs only 4 wickets to touch this figure.

In his career, he has taken five or more wickets in an innings of Test 15 times so far. Apart from this, twice he has taken 10 or more wickets in a match. His best performance is taking 6 wickets for 48 runs in an innings.

This success of Mitchell Starc is not only a historical achievement of his personal career, but is also a matter of pride for Australian cricket.
