The innings began with an early setback as Jofra Archer dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal cheaply. Later, Brydon Carse turned up the heat for England by removing Karun Nair, and then delivering a crucial blow by getting Shubman Gill out as well. With three top-order wickets gone, the pressure now rests on Rahul and debutant Akash Deep to steady the innings on the final day.

Earlier in the day, a brilliant bowling effort from the Indian bowlers saw England collapse for just 192 runs in their second innings. That gave India a fourth-innings target of 193 runs.

Notably, both teams had posted identical scores of 387 in their respective first innings, making this match a rare and closely contested encounter.

In England’s second innings, Washington Sundar was the standout performer for India, claiming 4 wickets for just 22 runs. He was well supported by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, who took two wickets each.
