Varun Aaron joins Sunrisers Hyderabad as bowling coach for IPL 2026

Sunrisers Hyderabad has signed Varun Aaron as the new bowling coach for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, the franchise announced on Monday.

Aaron is set to replace James Franklin, who was the fast bowling coach of SRH in IPL 2025.

The former India quick last played in IPL in the 2022 season for Gujarat Titans. He has played 52 matches in total playing for five teams — GT, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings — and picked up 44 wickets at an economy of 8.93.

Overall, Aaron has played 95 T20s and picked 93 wickets. He worn the India cap 18 times in total, nine each in ODIs and Tests.

The Jharkhand pacer last played for his domestic side in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 season in January earlier this year.

During the IPL 2025, he was working as a commentator with the official broadcaster.
