Overview:

Archer added fuel to the fire with a spirited send-off, running towards Pant and exchanging a few words as the Indian batter walked back to the dressing room.

England’s legendary pacer Stuart Broad took a cheeky dig at the fine imposed on Mohammed Siraj. He was penalised 15 percent of his match fee for his animated celebration after dismissing Ben Duckett during England’s second innings.

India started the final day at 58/4, requiring 193 runs to secure victory. Jofra Archer made an immediate impression, dismissing Rishabh Pant for just nine runs from 12 balls, handing England the opening breakthrough of the day. Archer added fuel to the fire with a spirited send-off, running towards Pant and exchanging a few words as the Indian batter walked back to the dressing room.

Broad, observing Archer’s celebration, took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share his thoughts on the matter.

After Pant’s departure, India quickly lost two more wickets, with KL Rahul and Washington Sundar following suit.

This collapse left England firmly in control of the match, with victory within reach. Broad had previously commented on Siraj’s fine on July 14. “Find this ridiculous. Siraj 15% for aggressive celebration. Gill swears live on tv & carries on and what? It’s either both or neither. Players aren’t and shouldn’t be robots but consistency is key.”

India are currently at 163/9, with Ravindra Jadeja unbeaten on 56.
