Ind vs eng 3rd test: The Indian team is currently on a tour of England, where a Test series of 5 matches is being played between the two teams. The third match of this series was played at the historic ground in Lord’s, in which India lost the match by 22 runs despite being in a strong position.
Indian batting completely stumbled, chasing the target of 193 runs in the fourth innings. India had a golden opportunity to gain an edge in the series by winning the Lord’s Test, but it got out of his hand. Let’s know 5 big reasons for this defeat.
Team India started to chase the target of 193 runs. By the end of the fourth day’s play, India had lost important wickets like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Karun Nair, Shubman Gill and Akash Deep for just 58 runs. Due to this, the team came under pressure from the beginning.
On the fifth day, India had expectations from KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant, but in the first hour, many wickets including both fell. After falling 7 on 82 and 8 wickets at 112, the return to India was almost impossible and the team moved towards defeat.
Except KL Rahul in this innings, no Indian top order batsman could stand. Apart from him, no player of the top order could reach 20 runs. The team had to suffer the brunt of this failure. In the end, Ravindra Jadeja fought with the help of Mohammad Siraj and Jaspreet Bumrah, but could not succeed.
Before the end of the game on the fourth day, the Indian team sent Akash Deep to bat after the third wicket. He tried to take time out, but he was under pressure from KL Rahul repeatedly giving him a strike and was dismissed. Many fans believe that if Akash Deep’s wicket had survived, the picture would have been different on the fifth day.
When India lost 8 wickets at 112, Bumrah came to the crease and also shared an important partnership with Jadeja. But as soon as the things were handled, he played an aggressive but miss time shot on Ben Stokes’ short ball and lost his wicket.
