Shubman gill aggressive intent like kohli: After the defeat of India in the Lord’s Test against England, questions have also been raised on the captaincy of Captain Shubman Gill. In his three Tests so far, while Gill has shown a new glimpse of leadership, the discussion in the cricket world about his aggressive attitude in Lord’s has intensified.
In this subject, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has expressed apprehension that all this may have been done with the aim of attracting attention and brand building, not making it natural.
Sanjay Manjrekar said during a conversation on Jio Hotstar, “If a player is showing aggression that ‘we are Indians, no less than anyone’, that idea may be popular, but his nature is questioned. I hope that Shubman Gill is not just to pay attention.” Manjrekar clarified that Virat Kohli’s aggression was part of his personality, leading to the level of his game and elevated.
Manjrekar also commented on the batting style of Shubman Gill and said, “If Virat Kohli had batted in such an environment, he would have scored a century with an eye on the opposition player. But Gill, who has batted like Bradman in the past, looked extremely uncomfortable in Lord’s. The innings of nine balls is probably not a part of his nature.”
In the Lord’s Test, India suffered defeat in an exciting and very close match. Despite reaching the victory position, the Indian team lost this match, due to which it has now lagged behind in the series. The upcoming match will be played in Manchester, where Team India will win and try to return to the series.
