Andre russell set to retire from international cricket: The news about West Indies star all -rounder Andre Russell was told that he has made up his mind to retire from international cricket. Russell has been made part of the squad for the 5 -match T20 series against Australia, but it is being said that Russell will say goodbye to international cricket after playing the first 2 matches of the series.
A report published in ESPN stated that the first 2 matches of the five -match T20 series against Australia will be Russell’s last match of the international career. Australia on the West Indies tour will play the first two matches at Sabina Park, Jamaica. This is Russell’s home ground, on which he will play his last international match.
Let us know that the five -match T20 series to be played between West Indies and Australia will start from July 20. Then the second match of the series will be played on July 22 according to Jamaica’s time and on 23 July (Wednesday) Indian time. According to the report, Russell will play the last match of international career on Wednesday.
Russell has been performed in the West Indies squad after being out of the team on the tour of Ireland. The thing to note is that at present, no official statement has been made from Russell about retirement.
Significantly, Andre Russell has played 1 Test, 56 ODIs and 84 T20 Internationals in his international career so far. In an innings of the Test, he scored 2 runs and took 2 wickets while bowling in 2 innings.
Apart from this, Russell scored 1034 runs in 47 innings of ODIs with the help of 4 half -centuries and took 70 wickets while bowling in 55 innings. In 73 innings of the remaining T20 International, Andra Russell scored 1078 runs with the help of 3 fifty and took 73 innings 61 wickets.
