Overview:
Bumrah has taken 12 wickets in four innings, which includes two five-fers in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
Deep Dasgupta said that Jasprit Bumrah must play in India’s fourth Test match against England. India are currently 1-2 down, having lost in Leeds and Lord’s. Bumarh was rested for the second Test to manage his workload. He will play in three red-ball games of the series. The right-arm speedster has already competed in two contests.
Dasgupta mentioned that he heard reports that Bumrah could be rested for the upcoming match to keep him ready for the final Test. However, he feels India will need their premier pacer in the must-win game.
“Jasprit Bumrah is a must for the fourth Test. I heard that the plan was to play him in the first, third and fifth Tests. But now India are 1-2 behind and his participation in the fourth game has become crucial. You would want the best bowler in the world to play. There is an eight-day gap between the two Tests and it remains to be seen whether the fifth Test remains relevant after the fourth Test,” he said on Star Sports.

Former India head coach Anil Kumble opined that Bumrah should play in the remaining two Tests, and he can take rest from the two-match home Test series against the West Indies.
“If Bumrah doesn’t play we will lose the fourth Test and the series will be over. He should be a part of the two matches and can take a break during the Test series against the West Indies,” he said.
