CPL New Rule in T20 Cricket: The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is going to start 2025 from August 14, but before the tournament begins, it has come into the limelight due to its ‘new rule’. This rule has created a stir on social media and has become a matter of debate among cricket lovers.
The rule was so shocking that whoever read it was surprised. Fans started thinking that if this happened really, then the whole game of cricket would change. Various reactions were also revealed about this strange rule.
The Caribbean Premier League claimed through a post on social media on 1 April that if the striker batsman is out on the first ball of the match, the non-strayer would be sent to the pavilion as well. That is, two wickets on the same ball! This rule was heard for the first time in the world and whoever read it, he did not believe his eyes for a moment.
When this rule went viral on social media, some people considered it a joke, but many fans were surprised to accept it. However, a few hours later, CPL cleared the truth about this ‘rule’ on its official Instagram account.
CPL reported that this post was done to surprise fans on the occasion of April Phool Day (1 April). That is, no such rule has come nor two batsmen will be out on one ball. Just, everyone was made April flower!
The schedule of CPL 2025 has already been released. This time the tournament will start from August 14 and the final match will be played on 21 September. This year knockout and final matches will be held in Guyana.
