Bumrah has a chance to make a big record during this series. If he takes 4 wickets in the next match, he will beat former Australian veteran bowler Dennis Lily.
Delhi: Team India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will be seen playing in just three matches in the current Test series against England. So far he has played the first and third Test matches. Keeping in mind his workload, the team management has decided that he will play only one of the last two Tests.
Bumrah has taken 12 wickets in two Tests so far and he remains the second most successful bowler in India in this series. Above him is Mohammad Siraj, who has taken 13 wickets in three matches.
Bumrah has a chance to make a big record during this series. If he takes 4 wickets in the next match, he will beat former Australian veteran bowler Dennis Lily, who took 458 international wickets in his career. At present, Bumrah has 455 wickets, including 217 Tests, 149 ODIs and 89 T20 wickets.
Mohammed Shami is also ahead of Bumrah in this list. Shami has so far taken 462 wickets in 197 international matches. In such a situation, Bumrah also has a great opportunity to leave him behind, especially if he plays in the next match and performs well.
India’s assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeshe said about the possible return in Bumrah’s fourth Test, “No decision has been taken yet. We will decide by looking at the situation in Manchester. We know that we have to feed them in one of the last two Tests. Since the series can be decided by this match, so the possibility of removing them increases.”
The fourth Test match between India and England will be played from July 23 at the Old Trafford ground in Manchester. The series is still at an exciting turn and Bumrah’s presence can prove to be decisive for the team.
