Former India cricketer Suresh Raina is confident that the Indian team can bounce back in the series against England and clinch a 3-2 victory. He praised the young squad, led by Shubman Gill, for displaying strong qualities of determination, resilience, and commitment.

India faced a 22-run loss in the third Test at Lord’s, giving England a 2-1 advantage in the series. Tasked with chasing 193 runs, India’s batting struggled, and they were bowled out for 170 runs.In an interview with ANI, Raina expressed his belief in the team’s potential to win the remaining two Tests and take the series.

“They will do it. They possess a strong sense of desire, perseverance, and determination. Gill will prove himself both as a batter and as a captain. I believe he has performed exceptionally well,” Raina said.

“We witnessed how KL Rahul batted, providing stability as an opener, and received excellent support from Yashasvi Jaiswal. Then there’s Rishabh Pant, who has approached his batting in a unique way, and his wicketkeeping has been outstanding,” he added.

“India won, then lost, then won again, and then lost (referring to the sessions in the Test series). But as a player, Shubman Gill has performed well and scored runs. Washington Sundar has also impressed, and Jasprit Bumrah‘s bowling has been exceptional.”

Indian bowlers have been leading the charge with Mohammed Siraj standing at the top of the wicket-taking charts in the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, having claimed 13 wickets. Following him are Jasprit Bumrah with 12 wickets and Akash Deep with 11 wickets.
