Nitish Reddy Likely To be Ruled Out for England Tests

The Indian side has sustained a major setback with a string of injuries, with Nitish Reddy likely to miss the fourth test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

The development comes on a day when it was revealed that pacer Akash Deep one of the India’s match-winners in the second Test at Edgbaston.

Nitish Reddy has sustained an left knee injury leaving his further participations in serious doubt.

With the exact circumstances of the injury remain unclear, though it is believed to have occured during a mobility training session.

It is reported that Nitish Reddy went for scans and the extent will be known only after the results but as of not it does not look very encouraging for the young all-rounder, having claimed three crucial wickets upfront in both the innings at Lord’s besides scoring 43 crucial runs for the team.

However, there is no official confirmation from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on the all-rounder. The injury adds to India’s concernss ahead of the fourth test in Manchester, as the side will have to find the right Xl before the fixture, which starts on July 23.

With Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep is likely to miss the fourth test, Anshul Kamboj has linked up with the squad in Manchester, India will need to figure out the right balance, as they have Shardul Thakur, Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Yadav are in contention.

India’s preparation for the fourth test against England comes underway in Manchester on a rainy note, as the visitors has been forced to train under roof.

The first training sessions of the week was optional, and several key players, including Reddy, did not participate.

As per reports, India captain Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar and Reddy skipped the indoor nets.

The upcoming match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy will be crucial for both the sides as India will be aiming for a win to draw the series. However if England edges the visitors, Shubman Gill‘s side will lose the series.

The fourth test will be played between July 23 and 27 at Old Trafford Cricket StadiumManchester.
