Delhi: Ravi Shastri, former coach of Team India, has made a big disclosure about the earnings of the top cricketers of India. In ‘Stick to Cricket’ Podcast, he told that veteran players like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar used to earn more than 100 crores every year in their peak time.

This earning was mostly from brand endorsement. Shastri said, “These players earn a lot. Especially with the advertisement. I would say 100 crores i.e. about 10 million dollars or more. You can calculate yourself.”

Used to shoot 15 to 20 advertisements in a day

Shastri also told in the conversation that in his peak time, these players used to shoot 15 to 20 advertisements in a day. He said, “Dhoni, Kohli or Tendulkar used to add so much in a day in his time. There was no time. These players signed advertisements for a year and complete the shoot by giving a day time.”

Shastri also said that the match fee and BCCI’s contract gives a stable earning. However, the real money comes from brand deals. He said that India’s top cricketers are now earning equal to international superstars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

England set a strong hold on India

While the earnings of cricketers were being discussed, England has put pressure on India in the Manchester Test. By the end of the third day’s play, England have scored 544/7 runs and have gained 186 runs.

Joe Root scored a stunning 150 runs. Apart from him, Zack Croly, Ben Docket and captain Ben Stokes also contributed significantly. Stokes is unbeaten after scoring 77 and Liam Dawson is playing 21 runs. At the same time, India’s bowlers have so far failed to curb England’s batting.
