Along with drawing the series, Indian captain Shubman Gill has achieved a special achievement. In Indian Test cricket history, Gill became the third such captain who went to England and draws series.

Before this series, India has been able to draw only two series on England Dore till date. Before Shubman Gill, Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli have done this feat. On the tour of England in 2020, the 4-match series was finished by the Indian team 1-1. After this, in 2021-2022, the team went to England under the captaincy of Virat. The series was also drawn on a score line of 2-2, in which the last match was played after 10 months from the scheduled date due to Kovid. After the withdrawal of Virat’s captaincy in this match, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took the command of the team.

Interestingly, India has drawn 3 series in England and has won only 3 series. Ajit Wadkar became the captain who won the first series to India on English earth. Under the captaincy of Ajit, India won 1-0 in the three-match Test series in 1971. After this, in the year 1986, world winning captain Kapil Dev won 2–0 in the 3-match series. Then the name comes, ‘The Wall’ of Rahul Dravid, under which India won the 3-match series 1-0 in 2007.
