Lucknow: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in the news these days regarding one of its decisions. Actually, the board has decided to increase the match fees of domestic players. Its objective is that those players who are not able to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) are not deprived of earning more money. This decision will benefit all those players who are not part of any team in IPL. BCCI is also taking this decision to take red ball cricket forward so that the interest of young players does not diminish in it.

Let us tell you that only a few months ago the Indian Cricket Board had increased the salary of players playing international cricket. In this, those players are getting benefit who give more importance to Test cricket. This was also appreciated a lot by world cricket and now BCCI wants to bring this model in domestic cricket. According to a report by Cricbuzz, the salary of players playing domestic cricket can be doubled. This will also help in improving the financial condition of the players. If this happens, players can earn up to Rs 1 crore.

For this, chief selector Ajit Agarkar has recommended to BCCI. However, it cannot be implemented with immediate effect but discussions on it have been completed. It is noteworthy that players who play 20 matches in Ranji Trophy currently get Rs 40,000 per day. So players who have played between 21 to 40 matches get Rs 50,000, while players who have played more than 40 matches get Rs 60,000 per day. In such a situation, the salary of all the players may increase further.

The main objective of BCCI doing this is to draw the attention of those players who are turning their backs on red ball cricket. Young players are paying attention towards T-20 so that they can play in IPL but this does not happen and all the players should also pay attention to red ball cricket. This is the reason why the board wants to increase the salary of the players playing domestic cricket.
