Delhi: Team India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal had first decided to leave Mumbai and play domestic cricket from Goa. But, a few days later, he suddenly changed his decision. Earlier, he had prepared to go to Goa with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). He cited family reasons.

However, in the meantime, Team India’s ODI captain Rohit Sharma intervened in the matter. According to the report of Mumbai Mirror, Rohit Sharma talked to Yashasvi and explained that it would not be the right decision to change the kingdom in his domestic career at this time. He reminded Yashasvi that Mumbai has given him a platform to fulfill the dream of playing for India.

MCA President Ajay Naik told that Rohit told Yashasvi that playing for a team like Mumbai is an honor. It is a matter of pride to be part of the team winning the title 42 times in the Ranji Trophy.

After this, Yashasvi again considered his decision. He sent an email to MCA and requested that the NOC be with them be withdrawn. MCA has accepted his request.

Significantly, Yashaswi is originally from Uttar Pradesh and came to Mumbai with the dream of playing cricket at the age of 11. He started from Mumbai grounds and reached the under-19 team. In 2020, he played for India in the Under-19 World Cup and became the Player of the Tournament. In 2019, he caught everyone’s attention by scoring a double century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
