Warner compared his struggles against Broad to Root’s failures against Hazlewood. Broad dismissed Warner 17 times in Tests.

David Warner has once again highlighted Joe Root’s struggles in Australia. Warner said that Root will once again find it hard to score runs against Josh Hazlewood in the upcoming Ashes.

Warner mocked Root for his front pad technique. “Rooty is yet to score a hundred in Australia.

Josh Hazlewood has dismissed him a lot of times,” Warner told BBC Sport.

Hazlewood got rid of the world number one batter ten times in the longest format, a mark only exceeded by pacers Pat Cummins and Jasprit Bumrah, who took his scalp 11 times each.

Meanwhile, Stuart Board defended his former teammate.

“I’ve never heard England’s best-ever batter’s front pad called a surfboard. Just for clarity. Hazlewood has got Rooty LBW in Test cricket three times. Three,” Broad posted on X, defending his long-time teammate.

Broad dismissed Warner 17 times in Tests. “I think he will have Josh Hazlewood’s nightmares before the Ashes. I bit like me and Broady,” Warner added.

Root has transformed his batting in the last few years. He has hit 39 Test tons and is the second-highest run-getter in the history of red-ball cricket. “Root is a hell of a cricketer, but he would like to score a hundred in Australia,” Warner concluded.
