Aakash Chopra, the former India cricketer, has expressed his belief that Rishabh Pant is the best-ever Test wicketkeeper-batter for India. While acknowledging that MS Dhoni has accumulated more Test runs, Chopra pointed out that Pant has hit two more centuries than Dhoni, despite having played 43 fewer matches.

Aakash Chopra noted that Rishabh Pant is behind MS Dhoni by approximately 1400 runs in Test cricket, but he has outpaced Dhoni in centuries, despite playing only half the number of matches.

“When we consider the overall statistics, Rishabh Pant has already scored eight centuries, while MS Dhoni had six. Pant is currently in second place for the most runs, trailing Dhoni by 1400 runs, but with nearly half the number of matches played. If he continues to play, it’s clear that he’ll eventually surpass Dhoni,” he said.

Chopra also mentioned that just seven Indian wicketkeepers have accumulated over 1000 runs in Test matches. He believes that Pant is already at the top of this list.
