Delhi: The Indian women’s A cricket team had to face a clean sweep 3–0 in the T20 series against the Australia Women’s A team. India had a target of 145 runs in the third and last match played in McKay, but the team could only score 140 runs for 8 wickets and lost by four runs. Shefali Verma played a rage of 41 runs off 25 balls with the help of six fours and a six, but the rest of the batsmen could not support him.

Radha and Prema’s deadly bowling

Batting first after winning the toss, the Australia A team scored 144 for eight wickets in 20 overs. Opener Alyssa Heli (27) and Tahlia Wilson (14) shared a 37 -run partnership for the first wicket. Heli hit three fours and a six in 21 balls, while Wilson was dismissed by 14 runs.

After this, Anika Lyroid added 22 runs off 17 balls with a fours and a six, while Medaline Pena scored 39 runs in 32 balls with the help of three fours and a six. Indian bowlers stopped Australia from crossing 150 by taking wickets at regular intervals. Captain Radha Yadav took three wickets for 31 runs in 4 overs, while Prema Rawat hunted three for 24 runs in 4 overs.

Shefali’s aggressive style, then collapsed innings

Chasing the target, India started poorly. Vrinda Dinesh (4) was run out in the second over and Uma Chastri (3) also returned to the pavilion early. In such a situation, Shefali Verma batted in an aggressive manner and handled the innings. India’s score reached 59 runs in the eighth over from her innings, but she was dismissed in this over. After this, Raghavi Bisht (25) and Minnu Mani (30) added 48 runs for the fourth wicket and the score took beyond 100.

However, the Indian innings shattered like cards and five wickets fell within the next 33 runs.

Australia’s Siana Ginjar bowled brilliantly and took four wickets for just 16 runs in 4 overs. He took important wickets like Shefali, Raghavi, Radha and Sajna. Finally India could score 140 runs for eight wickets and lost the match by four runs.

After the T20 series, now a three -match ODI series will be played between the two teams, which will start in Brisbane from August 13. All three matches will be played there.
