Virat Kohli has been with Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2008, but he is searching for a maiden IPL title. Despite leading them for years, the Bengaluru-based franchise failed to cross the line. They finished runners-up on three occasions.
Former India player Irfan Pathan has come up with a suggestion for RCB. He wants the management and owners to allow Virat to handle the team auction process.
“It is high time RCB allow Virat Kohli to take care of the auction process. He should be given power to make all the decisions. I am sure Virat will spend most of the budget on the bowling department.
“If he is given the responsibility, RCB would finish among the top three franchises instead of 10th position,” Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports.
Kohli is the highest run-getter in the history of the Indian Premier League, with over 7000 runs. He is also leading the batting chart in IPL 2024.
RCB’s most significant concern has been their bowling over the years. They didn’t retain Yuzvendra Chahal in 2022, and the spinner recently completed 200 wickets in the league. All the franchises get the same purse to buy the players in the auction, but RCB mess up things.
