But from the last few IPL season, the question has been arising whether MS Dhoni will play the next IPL match. But a recent statement by Dhoni has increased the tension of fans.

In an event recently, when MS Dhoni was asked if he would play in IPL 2026, he jokingly said, “Hey, who will take care of the pain in the knee?” He further stated that he has time till December to take a decision and he will take a final decision in the next few months.
MS Dhoni’s knee problem is not new. During the IPL 2025, he was seen batting several times in a lower order, on which fans and cricket pundits raised questions. However, Channai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming had made it clear that it was Dhoni’s thought-making decision, so that he would face less balls and do not put much pressure on running.
MS Dhoni has played 278 matches in the IPL so far. In these matches, he has scored 5439 runs at an average of 38.30. Which includes 24 half -centuries. MS Dhoni has captained Chennai in 244 matches. CSK has won 145 matches under his captaincy. 96 matches lost and a match was tied. MS Dhoni’s win percentage is 59.42.
