Lucknow: The T20 World Cup is to be played in June 2024 jointly hosted by West Indies and USA. For this, all the cricket boards have to announce their team before May 1. In this series, India also has to choose the team for the World Cup and it can be announced in the next few days. However, the biggest headache for the selectors is which players they should include in the team because many players are vying for one place.
Selecting the Indian team for the World Cup is not going to be easy at all for Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar. In this series, there are many players contending for the role of wicketkeeper in the team. It also includes KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, Jitesh Sharma and experienced Dinesh Karthik. Only two players among these keepers will get a place.

KL Rahul remains the second choice for the role of wicketkeeper. Actually, according to a report by news agency PTI, Rahul remains the second choice of the selectors but Sanju Samson is giving him a tough competition and either of these two can be given a place in the team. Apart from this, fast bowlers Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi and Akshar Patel are also competing with each other. Any one of these three players can get the West Indies KS ticket.
The report further claims that the poor form of star all-rounder Hardik Pandya remains a matter of concern for the team management. Let us tell you that this season Hardik has been a flop in IPL with bat and ball. He is captaining Mumbai Indians (MI) this season and the team's performance has also been disappointing. Pandya has played a total of 8 matches so far in IPL 2024, in which he has scored 151 runs at a modest average of 21.57 and strike rate of 142.45.
